Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Acupuncturist)

Location: Hamilton City in Anglesea Pharmacy

Clinic: Mr. Yu Master Acupuncture and Healthcare

Contract Type: Contractor

Payment method: Revenue split, approximately $45-$55 per hour

Mr. Yu Master Acupuncture and Healthcare is expanding its services and is seeking a Contract Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Acupuncturist) to join our team in Hamilton City in Anglesea Pharmacy. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who is passionate about traditional Chinese medicine, patient‑centered care, and providing high‑quality acupuncture and related therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine treatments
  • Conduct patient assessments and create personalized treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation
  • Support patient recovery and holistic wellbeing
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinic environment

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture
  • Current practicing requirements (acupuncture registration/APC from CMCNZ & ACC)
  • Perfect written English, strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
  • Professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Applicants must have valid New Zealand work rights (NZ citizen, permanent resident, or a valid work visa)

Nice to have

  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical working experience in an acupuncture or allied health setting
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages (an advantage for supporting diverse clients) 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess client needs and track treatment progress
