The Medical Council of New Zealand describes cultural safety as requiring practitioners to reflect on how their own views and biases affect clinical interactions and care. It also links cultural safety with health equity. The Ministry of Health's Treaty of Waitangi framework recognizes Treaty obligations as a foundation for achieving Māori health aspirations and equity. By the end of this program, learners will have a better understanding of culturally safe healthcare practice and how to apply respectful, inclusive, and equity-focused care in their daily clinical work.
Important note: This can be used as learning evidence, but whether it is accepted as formal CPD depends on your professional body's requirements.
